Historically, we know that humans came to need oral health care when they first started to use fire for cooking. To enable painless dental treatment - a dream of human beings since our first fire-cooked meals - a number of technical achievements have been realized by MORITA since its inception. The MORITA Group developed and released "Air Jet" in 1960, a 300,000 rpm super high-speed handpiece, and later "Astron," a 500,000 rpm super high-speed air turbine handpiece with air bearings, dramatically alleviating patients' pain and discomfort during treatment. In 1964, MORITA developed a horizontal position treatment system, which allows patients to lie on their backs and dentists to remain seated during treatment. This system was the world's first of its kind, and its hardware and software have become the world standard. In 1966, MORITA launched a dental laser system to enable almost painless dental surgery. All of these products were developed in response to the health care needs of society; in other words, the voices of dental patients. MORITA will continue to steadily address various issues concerning preventive dentistry, highly advanced medical/dental technology, medical/dental care for the elderly, informed consent in the information age, aesthetic dentistry, infection control etc., in close partnership with dental and medical schools and laboratories throughout the world. In order to provide patients, dentists, dental assistants and other clinic staff members with a hygienic, comfortable and efficient dental clinical environment. We will continue to direct our efforts to developing a human-centered clinic system and space planning, comprehensively involving a reception counter, waiting room, dental treatment room, dental technician's room and staff room. We believe that there will be a growing demand for the development of a system to help establish network clinics by integrating in-clinic LAN systems in response to the needs of the information age.
