CBCT has become an integral part of Endodontic practices. We rely on CBCT for diagnosis and treatment planning, identifying complications such as resorption and cracked teeth, as well as being a necessity for endodontic microsurgery in order to see the proximity of anatomic landmarks such as the mental foramen, mandibular canal, sinuses, and greater palatine foramen. CBCT is also useful as a precursor for microsurgery, recording measurements that will guide the practitioner for more accurate and efficient surgery.
- To be able to view a CBCT and scroll through the relevant slices
- To diagnose such complications like internal/external resorption and cracked teeth which will determine our treatment plan for the tooth
- Viewing the CBCT prior to microsurgery to ensure a safe and efficient procedure for the patient
- Understanding the limitations of CBCT
