The wavelength of the Er:YAG laser is most suitable for dental treatments, because it is readily absorbed by water. It efficiently vaporizes human tissue that has a high water content and only affects the surface of that tissue. As a result, it produces very little heat which reduces pain.
-
Virtually painless
-
Reduced trauma for biological tissues
Unlike CO2 and Nd:YAG lasers, Er:YAG vaporization is concentrated at the surface of the tissue so the energy does not penetrate and damage deeper layers of tissue. It is also far less likely to produce cracks in the enamel, and it does not disperse energy to the area surrounding the irradiation target.
Additionally, there is little heat produced by Er:YAG lasers. Even when irradiated, the implant's temperature increase is minimal and the integrated bone will not be damaged. The healing process is expedited, since no heat damage occurs. Caries are also treated more effectively.

Ideal for periodontology
As an Er:YAG laser, the wavelength is readily absorbed by water and efficiently vaporizes soft tissue. AdvErL EVO also offers a wide variety of tip options with an extensive selection for periodontal treatment. Its lightweight and flexible cable and powerful settings are also ideal for this specialty.
Applications include removal of subgingival calculus, diseased, infected, inflamed and necrosed soft tissue within the periodontal pocket, subgingival calculus, and granulation tissue from bony defects. It may also be applied for soft tissue curettage, sulcular debridement, and osseous crown lengthening. AdvErl EVO has also been used successfully in the treatment of peri-implantitis.

Applications in Endodontics
Laser-assisted root canal treatment is a modern and minimally invasive method for treating an infected or damaged tooth. It involves using laser technology to remove infected tissue, help sanitize the root canal, and promote healing. Lasers can be a valuable tool to make this process easier, more accurate, and more effective.
With both hard and soft tissue applications, AdvErL EVO offers a variety of applications in endodontics:
- Tooth preparation for access to root canal
- Root canal preparation, debridement & cleaning
- Flap preparation
- Apicoectomy
- Laser-assisted irrigation
AdvErL EVO Clinical Case in Endodontics
A 12-year-old boy presented to the Einstein Endodontic Clinic with pain and swelling associated with tooth #20, attributed to the presence of dens evaginatus. The CBCT scan revealed an underdeveloped root with a large open apex and apical pathology due to necrotic pulp. To address this, MORITA’s AdvErL EVO, an Er:YAG laser, equipped with a 200-micron tip, was utilized. Debridement was performed using air and water irrigation, followed by activation of EDTA. After one round of calcium hydroxide treatment, pulp regeneration was successfully conducted.Case courtesy of:

Innovative laser tips
AdvErL EVO tips are unique in design. Water and air supply are integrated into the tip where the laser beam is transmitted and emitted. This feature aligns the flow of the spray.
A total of 20 tips are available for a wide range of indications.
- Standard tip (green square)
- C: Caries tip
- CF: Corner/Curve flat tip
- P: Perio tip
- PS: Pocket surgery tip
- R: Root tip
- Brush tip
New tips
PSM600T
The PSM600T features a reinforced Titanium Nitride metal coating to reduce the risk of tip fracture and to make it easier to control inside the pocket.
Usage
- Removal of hard tissue (tooth, bone)
- Also effective on soft tissue
Structure
- Base model C600F
- Additional function: fine mist water spray
Advantages
- Benefits of fine mist water spray
- Prevents absorption by thick water layer
- Creates thin water layer for laser irradiation
- Increases vaporization speed - faster cutting
- Improves visibility
- Effective even if the laser is defocused from target
R600T
The R600T emits the laser from the sides of the tip, especially useful for debridement of peri-implantitis – this feature is completely unique in the market.
Usage
- Treatment of periodontal pockets
Structure
- The spigot of the tip is covered by metal (TiN coating)
- The shape of the spigot is same as the PS600T
- The end diameter is same as the C400F
Advantages
- Reduces the risk of tip fracture
- Easier control inside the pocket
CS600F
The CS600F offers improved water spray for more effective cutting of enamel and dentin.
Usage
- Peri-implant muscositis
- Peri-implantitis
- Removal of infected granulation tissue and calculus
Structure
- Larger version of R type tip (base model C600F)
- Angle of tip 84° (same radius as R135T, R200T, R300T)
- Irradiation pattern: The entire circumference
Advantages
- Enables access form lateral side of bone cavity and implant surface

Intuitive interface
The display of AdvErL EVO is large, easy to read, and has an intuitive design. All settings can be easily confirmed at a glance. There are 20 pre-programmed settings that can easily be retrieved.
Usage log saved on flash memory
A usage log is saved on a flash memory stick that can be connected to a computer for review.
Elegant and compact
The unit is lightweight and can easily be moved with large castors and handles on both the front and back. These convenient features also allow the unit to be slightly repositioned during treatment if needed.
Easy installation
To install, simply plug it in. The water and air systems are all built in eliminating the need for complicated connections.
-
Excellent access with unique handpiece design
The AdvErL EVO handpiece is designed similar to a scaler handpiece and therefore offers better access and a direct view to the preparation area – a unique feature of Morita.
Standard
R-Attachment
With a reduced handpiece weight of less than 50g, user fatigue is reduced. Additionally, the cable utilizes hollow waveguide technology, supported by a flexible rod. During use, it feels nearly weightless and offers excellent maneuverability with very low coupling loss. For convenience, the handpiece hanger is attached to the unit with a magnet so that the position may be adjusted to suit the individual dentist. The handpiece movement range is approximately 600 mm from the handpiece hanger.
